MARC CHAGALL
Marc Chagall believed strongly in the United Nations. In 1989 just after artist’s death, the World Federation of United Nations received special permission from the his estate to publish a limited edition etching by Marc Chagall to commemorate the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The etching was created by a master printer in France from an ink wash drawing by Chagall on 100% pure rag arches paper. The image was chosen as the first etching released by the United Nations.
