MARCEL MARCEAU
Universally acclaimed as the world’s greatest mime. He was born in Strasbourg, France. In 1949 he created PIP the Clown. He received the renowned Deburau Prize. The French government conferred upon him the Officer de la Legion d’Honneur. In 1998 President Chrac named Mr. Marceau Grand Officer of the Order of Merit. A talented artist, he completed a series of original lithographs in 1981. Marcel Marceau died on September 22, 2007.
