JOHN LENNON
Art was actually Lennon's first love. He began drawing long before he had a guitar. He attended the prestigious Liverpool Art Institute for three years (1957-1960) before the Beatles became a full-time occupation. Although music was his most noted form of artistic expression, he continued to draw throughout his life. The messages of peace and love which Lennon proclaimed to the world are apparent in both his music and his artwork.
John’s primary technique was line drawing either in pen, pencil, or Japanese sumi ink. John sought the simplicity of expression that a few carefully placed strokes could convey.
